A charming early 19th-century Spode Felspar porcelain jug, dating to circa 1820, beautifully decorated in the chinoiserie taste with finely hand-painted figures, colourful floral sprays, and delicate enamelling. The elegant faceted body is paired with a shaped spout and ornate serpent handle, giving the piece a refined and highly decorative appearance.
Produced during Spode’s celebrated Felspar porcelain period, this jug is a wonderful example of the factory’s innovative early porcelain wares. The vibrant hand-painted scene of Oriental figures within a garden setting is enhanced by delicate floral decoration and soft green ground colouring, all finished with fine gilded detailing around the base.
The base bears the “Spode Felspar Porcelain” mark, consistent with production from the circa 1820 period.
