Set of 5 Australian Matchboxes
A nostalgic collection of five original Australian matchboxes, produced in 1969 by The Australian Match Manufacturing Co. Pty. Ltd — one of Australia’s most iconic mid-20th-century match manufacturers.
During their operation, the company issued 49 different matchbox cover designs, many featuring vibrant artwork and patriotic imagery, including maps of Australia. These designs have since become sought-after pieces of Australiana and mid-century advertising history.
This set of five showcases the distinctive charm and graphic style of the late 1960s. Each box retains its printed label artwork and displays gentle signs of age, adding authenticity and vintage appeal.
The Australian Match Manufacturing Co. ceased operations on 26 March 1976, making original examples like these collectible.
