1857 Copeland Late Spode “Richmond Views” Footed Bowl
A beautiful example of mid-19th century English porcelain, this Copeland Late Spode “Richmond Views” footed bowl, dated 29th April 1857, showcases the exceptional artistry and quality for which Spode is celebrated.
The bowl features the elegant “Richmond Views” pattern — a finely detailed pastoral scene rendered in delicate transfer print, typical of Spode’s refined Victorian designs. The base bears the Copeland Late Spode mark along with a lozenge registration mark confirming the 1857 production date.
Raised on a graceful footed base, the bowl displays wonderful proportion and presence. It remains in excellent antique condition, with no chips or cracks, and only minor discolouration along the edges, consistent with age and gentle use.
