A charming piece of mid-20th-century British gaming history, this Waddingtons boxed playing-card set is a wonderful collectible for lovers of classic cards, vintage advertising, or London memorabilia. Housed in its original textured presentation box—marked “With the Compliments of Ellerby Foundry Ltd.”—this set features two scenic London decks depicting Tower and Tower Bridge.
One deck remains factory sealed, preserving its crisp, untouched condition, while the other is open but complete and in very good vintage order. The original paper slipcase for the open deck and the detailed tax-style wrapper on the sealed pack further enhance its authenticity and display value.
The outer presentation box includes two pull-out compartments designed to hold each deck securely. Though showing expected signs of age and light wear at the edges, it retains its warm patina and original Waddingtons artwork, adding to its charm.
